The University of Findlay - Health and Physical Education

Then earning a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from The University of Findlay is the right program for you.

Our Program

Through our health and physical education program, you will be able to earn a bachelor of science in health and physical education, preparing you for a career as a physical education teacher, a coach or personal trainer.

You may also choose to earn your licensure for health or for physical education. Both licensures are multi-age, K-12. With the additional licensure you are prepared to teach health and physical education elementary, middle and high schools.

In addition to a solid education, our program will provide you with the knowledge that’s unique to the health and physical education profession. UF’s academic course schedule will prepare a student for a career in such areas as:

Physical education teacher
Coaching
Sports instructing
Fitness instructor

Emphasis on Hands-On Experience

Field experience is an integral part of the health and physical education program. Fieldwork starts at the beginning of your sophomore year. You will be able to observe a health professional within a 15-mile radius of the University. During your senior year, you will student teach in an area school to hone the skills you have learned. Caring Faculty

Students will have the opportunity to develop close working relationships with the faculty, not just as professors or lecturers, but also caring professionals who can help prepare you for a career. Smaller classes help to strengthen the student-teacher relationship.
