                              How do I contact my daughter/son on campus?
                              Through the student service fee, residence hall rooms have local phone service with voice mail. Students may want to purchase a calling card or a cellular phone for long distance service.

                              Your child will also be provided with an e-mail address (note that all campus e-mail addresses end with “@findlay.edu”).

                              In an emergency, you may contact The University of Findlay Campus Police at: 419-434-4799 to forward a message to your child.

                              If my son/daughter becomes ill, what health services are available?
                              Resident students needing health services may go to the Cosiano Health Center(120 Foulke Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840; Phone: 419-434-4550), conveniently located two blocks from campus. Emergency Room services are provided for all students by Blanchard Valley Hospital, area hospital.


                              Are there counseling services available?
                              The University of Findlay has a Counseling Center that is a department within the office of Student Development.

                              What are the resources available to help my child succeed academically?
                              Every student has an academic advisor to help plan course schedule. Tutors are available through the Academic Support Center. The Academic Support Center can also answer questions regarding advising. Click here for more information.



                              What is the Oiler Experience?
                              All first-time, first-year students at UF participate in the Oiler Experience, which is intended to introduce them to college life at UF. The course is designed and taught by a cadre of student services professionals whose educational backgrounds and specialized training are focused on assisting students to succeed, both in and out of the classroom.


                              What is the average class size at The University of Findlay?
                              A student-faculty ratio of 14:1 fosters a warm, personal atmosphere and individual attention.

                              What is the “Freshman 15?
                              Change in diet; ordering fast junk food; new stresses; lack of exercise -- The "Freshman 15" is 15 pounds of fat which accumulates over the course of a freshman's first year away from home.

                              Please talk to your child about the importance of exercise, avoiding fast food, controlling portion sizes, eating balanced meals (don’t skip breakfast!), and trying not to eat while they study.

                              The Cardio Center located on the second floor of the Koehler Fitness Center is available for student use.

                              The Counseling Center can assist students with questions regarding body image.


                              What sports, clubs and activities are available on campus?
                              The quickest way to find out what is going on currently on campus is to check the Calendar of Campus Events.

                              The Director of Student Activities and Commuter Student Services has details regarding the clubs and organizations. Click here to view current list of campus organizations.

                              Sports teams’ schedules and game recaps can be found in the athletic section of our website.

                              What services are available for career placement while at The University of Findlay, and after graduation?
                              The Career Services Office provides assistance in developing, evaluating and implementing career, education and employment decisions and plans. The office continues to provide services to graduates after they graduate from The University of Findlay.


                              What services are available to help with graduate school placement?
                              Graduate services offered by the Career Services Office include assistance with applications and with developing a personal statement.

                               "Student rights and responsibilities are outlined in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Statement and the full Student Handbook is included in the Undergraduate Catalog


                              How does my child do his or her laundry?
                              All residence halls, special interest houses, fraternity/sorority houses, cottages, and townhouses have a laundry room. Washers and dryers are free to operate (the cost is included in room rates) and are to be used by residents of that facility only. 


                              What educational travel opportunities does The University of Findlay provide?
                              "Educational Travel Experience - Pursuing education and adventure in different parts of the world!"

                              Each year during spring break, Findlay students, faculty, alumni, staff, and friends travel together to various overseas destinations. Students earn academic credit for the trips.


                              What degree programs does The University of Findlay offer?
