Faculty Professional Development Services

Faculty Professional Development Services

For the 2007-’08 academic year, Academic Technology Services (ATS) at the TLTC will be adding new services for faculty members to assist with professional development and advancement.  Many TLTC-type organizations throughout the country have provided faculty with training and support opportunities that assist with many facets of the professional obligations and endeavors of faculty members.

The Academic Affairs Office, the College Deans and several faculty committees have been working with ATS over this past year to identify and develop new training & support opportunities in these areas:
  • Pedagogy and Teaching (e.g. panels/speakers on Learning Communities and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning)
  • Publication and Scholarship (e.g. assisting with the development & production of posters for academic venues)
  • Community Outreach and Professional Service
  • Program Advising and Administration (e.g. includes assessment and v4 support)
  • Social Networking and Computing
  • Grant Writing
  • Promotion and Tenure (e.g. workshops on successful Portfolios and Dossiers)
The development of these new workshops, training, and mentoring programs for faculty is being formulated in collaboration with existing offices, committees and programs. They are not designed to replace any other existing programs on campus. Also, ATS will continue to provide all current training opportunities and workshops relating to instructional technology and pedagogy.  We will keep you informed on the development and scheduling of these new, exciting services and programs.
