Policy Regarding Student Organization Advisors Accompanying Student Group Members to Conferences and Activities Off Campus

If a Student Organization uses University vehicles to transport students to a conference or activity off campus, a faculty, staff, or graduate assistant advisor must accompany the group.

If a Student Organization is not using University vehicles to transport students to a conference or activity off campus, the faculty/staff advisor may accompany the group,  but is not required to do so.

If an advisor accompanies Student Organizations members to a conference or activity off campus, the Student Organization is responsible for covering any costs associated with his/her attendance.  These costs should be included in any budget request submittied to the Student Government Association.

All University rules/regulations are in effect when a Student Organization travels to a conference or activity off campus, and students can be subjected to judicial action for inappropriate behavior.
